I wanted to go beyond the typical “magical element” or a wand or some sort of article of clothing, and felt metal is something significant that holds a lot of memory in the gilding of it, melting and forming it to its shape, etc. there’s layers in its creation, and the fact it is held throughout history adds external layers, too!
