Chapter 26
A reflection from 3/26
I think of all of the lifetimes that are offered and severed with a single decision
“what if I had said yes?”
so much time spent in the “what ifs,” you forget about cherishing the current choices
there’s something wondrous in the journey and by looking at past choices with regret, you are literally muddling the map, ripping chunks of it off because you don’t like the way they look
change the perspective from I wish, to I am glad, or from I should have, to I got to
take pride in the fact your story is so unique and cherish the moments where you are actively writing the next chapter, rather than going back and trying to edit chapter 16 for the twentieth time
there’s a reason chapters end and new ones begin - have some fun with the pen, change it from a quill to gel to simply using tear stains to tell a story
whatever works - it’s yours to write and you have time to write it
there’s no timeline to meet, no obligations or editors viewing your work
it’s raw, it’s yours, and it’s special, so keep chugging along on your journey, humps and all, and remember the main character needs character building, too.

“there’s no timeline to meet, no obligations or editors viewing your work” — I needed this reminder. Thankyou!
